So I've spent about 6hrs of the last two days cleaning the signalbox I'm in because it's disgusting even down to the point where I dug the Brasso out to polish some of the lever plates and release buttons and I know it's all a waste of time and will be back to a dump the next time I'm in here!

Is it a BR era signal box you're in Dave? Or a newer electronic box as against frames and pulleys.

f**king insurance company f**king around again.

Micra is going for scrap next month, found another of exactly the same model, year etc... even the colour is the same to move onto.

Rang my insurer up, " Yes thats no problem, though there will be an additional fee of £100* as youre changing to that vehicle".

This is where the issue starts.

Me - "Can I ask why you're charging me £100?"

Insurer - "Its because its a higher risk vehicle sir"

Me - "Are you unaware of the vehicle listed on my policy at present?"

Insurer - "Yes sir, but the vehicle you're moving to is different"

Me - "That's nonsense. The car is the exact same model, with the same engine size, power, weight blah blah... this makes no sense"
Insurer - "I'm afraid that's the cost incurred in this move sir"
Me - "Well if that's the case I'll be ringing back following thought on whether I wish to continue my policy with you" (I paid in one lump for the year, refunded for cancellation before then)

Insurer - " Give me two moments, I'll see what we can do....Yes Sir, we can transfer your policy for no charge, a telematics team will be in touch to arrange the removal of your old i-box into your new vehicle"

Me - "Well as you've blatantly attempted to wrangle an unnecessary £100, I'll hold on until the end of next month before I change vehicle. Thanks for wasting my time, and your own"

I had wanted another Corsa. Micra is terribly uncomfortable and dull. Online quote of £1200, less than my Micra at present. Over the phone, "There will be an additional £470 needed on your premium to insure this vehicle"
The digging continues. All a money making scheme out of drivers to me.

I'm a relief man now so cover quite a few boxes, all are old lever frames though apart from the one my job is based at which is an OCS (one click signalling) box

Yeah and I was meant to go for a 24hr ECG but lost the letter D: had a heart rate of 120+ for 12hours before Christmas and went to A&E and yesterday it was between 120-130 all day. Now it's about 50ish and fluttering like mad.

Gunna phone my GP on my break and get them to re-refer me for my 24hr ecg

Spartacus was just sleeping on my chest, resting his face against mine. All very cute.

Then the little fanny sneezed in my face, woke up, puked all over my face, then threw his face in it and tried to go back to sleep!

Taj, my oldest cat sleeps on my pillow every single night, this includes farting in my ear and general snoring noises :)

He quite often sleeps on my chest in the morning (if I'm laying on my back) and has been known to both sneeze and dribble in my face; once he managed to dribble into my mouth whilst I was yawning :(
