MadManMike Posted January 18, 2013 Report Share Posted January 18, 2013 My b*****d PC packed up the other night, I ordered a new case, PSU and fans for it and they arrived today. Fitted everything, fired it up and nothing. Dead. So I went out and bought a motherboard and got home to find out they gave me the wrong one (AM3+, not AM2+). Rather than take it back I decided to take the plunge and upgrade my PC so I've just ordered a Phenom II 3.4 x4 and some DDR3 RAM. MadManMike Posted January 18, 2013 Report Share Posted January 18, 2013 Can't afford the bits I've already ordered really man, SSD is out of the question. Motherboard is an Asus M5A78L. Yeah it's the 965BE - seemed quite good for the money. I'm upgrading from a Phenom 9850 x4 2.5 AM2 so it'll be better than that. RAM is a huge improvement too so it should be noticeably quicker than the old one. My old motherboard was a dirt cheap Foxconn one too so the Asus should be good - seems to have a lot more options in terms of connectivity that's for sure. I've been in a van a few times on that stretch when the weather was like this, it was worse when they had the 50mph roadworks all the way down to Leicester and all the traffic is bunched up. I just arrive at our riding spot, when one of the lads said you've got a flat. Then I was well pissed off, and had a bale whilst trying to gap. We sat down because we were drunk then the bouncer came over and removed me with his hands and now i have a bruise/cut on my neck proper hurts. Greetings Posted January 20, 2013 Report Share Posted January 20, 2013 Ill. Not sure what it is but it's not a cold. Hope it's not pharyngitis, had it once before and it was a f**king nightmare. Got a headache, sore throat and spent half the day in bed, fully dressed under 4 blankets. Was so cold I had to wear a cap and wrap a scarf around my face leaving only the nose poking out. Touching anything cold was literally a painful experience. That's what you get for spending a whole day at an airfield at -10C in a car with a broken heater.
