Smashanddash19
So I went 18-15 yesterday? On my stock and I can't seem to get the hack of it I was 22-16 before so a higher ratio and could go higher to rear , probably because of the speed and gap further cause I could crank hard so do I stick at it and see or go to a different gearing what are your experiences with some set ups
customrider-Rhys
18-15 is the perfect ratio for a stock, i would stick with it and you'll get used to it, you gradually find its better and makes life easier.
dann2707
I think it's your engagement points letting you down mate, IMO though like.
Smashanddash19
But still when going to rear I'm already engaged when cranking ... The speed just feels wrong!
Danny00135
It's bound to feel weird, keep riding and you'll progress quicker with that ratio when you get used to it..
dngr2self
Why not try 14 on the back. I had a similar problem, 18 15 was ok for me at first because it seemed easy to flick about but I reached a point where I couldn't gap further or hop higher. 18 14 allows me to put more power in. isitafox
18 13 is closer to the 22 16 you've been running but for general trials that sounds far too heavy
dezmtber
the 18-15 is the same as you running a 22-17 ratio. if you change it to 18-13 it will feel the same as before. but like everyone here says the 18-15 will be better if you get used to it. imo the 18-13 will be better for street riding, but you will find it hard to pedal of steep objects. where the 18-15 will help you out on those steep exits like you get on rocks
Smashanddash19
Cheers for the replies guys I'll stick with the 15t rear and if i can't get use to it I'll fiddle about with the ratios a bit
VAMPIRE V12
18:13 is the ratio i use on my street bike and it helps out alot when your riding to your next spot and when you want to get a bit of speed up to do something
