CurtisRider
How do you work in all that mess? And why on earth are you putting those nasty plastic spoke protectors on? They are only necessary if a spastic sets up the rear mech wrongly and looks gash in a matter of seconds... Nice builds other than that
dezmtber
its not that messy theres just some bike packing on the floor, some of it had to go back on the spesh to go back in its box, to be shipped. those spoke protectors are fitted by the orange and spesh, i am told not to remove them unless the customer want it removing. i do on the other hand remove all the reflectors and guards on bmx bikes i think its pretty clear most kids wont buy a bmx with a chain guard
CurtisRider
Oh I thought you built the bikes, not just turned the bars round after removing it from a box I thought ti was a legal requirement for bikes to come with reflectors and bells when they leave the shop?
dezmtber
Yep its legal they come supplyed with the bike. In the bag with the manual I say is best. Unless its a road bike.

BradJohnson
All reflectors and bells must be FITTED to the bike before it leaves the shop. If a customer has an accident they could sue the hell out of the shop. Any hand-operated brakes arranged left-hand rear, right-hand frontA bellWhite or yellow reflectors on both sides of each wheel or tyreA white wide-angle front reflector, or a front lampA red wide-angle rear reflectorYellow reflectors front and rear on each pedal The reflectors (or front lamp) required above must be of a specification that is approved by UK Lighting Regulations. A bike that is sold fully assembled must come exactly so, with all these things fitted as described
dezmtber
Yes and ? Am I bothered what's your point do u work with the govenment toffs. I speak for all bike shops when I say I am bored of these regulations when some trades cab sell a bike that's likely to kill the owner by failing.
dezmtber
Even though there not fitted we do ask if the customer wants them fitted before the bike leaves the shop
AndrewEH1
I like the fact you keep the gay disc on, but remove light reflectors which are a legal requirement....
Jake.
Jesus christ, people bitching over legal shit, and reflectors when the some of the nicest MTB's I've seen have been uploaded.
dezmtber
To remove the gear disc that would mean removing the cassette and if the customer wanted it back on removing the cassette again. Jmcd is spot on that's what the topic is about. If I made the rules all these bike would have none of the reflectors and guards. If you are on the road buy some lights. A guy came in to get some reflectors the other day . So he could ride on the buzyest road here at night a pitch black 60mph road with just reflectors is he jokeing. MadManMike
Jesus christ, people bitching over legal shit, and reflectors when the some of the nicest MTB's I've seen have been uploaded. Nobody is bitching over legal shit, they're just correcting him because he thought it was legal to just supply them in the bag. I'm sure nobody on here actually cares how they're supplied, just giving him correct info, that's all...

dezmtber
Everyone on here has a bike that is illegal to use on the public highway. PEDAL REFLECTORS are a legal requirement for all bikes and unicycles. All the bikes I took pics of have no pedal reflectors so I am dammed to a heafty jail term oh no
