clerictgm
It's not so bad. -15 is ok to ride, -10 and higher is warm. I love winter, just want it to be shorter(on 1 month though). But sometimes it's good to ride even in -30 (some sunny day without wind). Just need to be more active and wear right clothes. Temperature isn't a problem - snow and ice is. Edited December 2, 2012 by clerictgm

clerictgm
>you need to be in clothes that make you look like the michelin man to stand -30 degrees!? Absolutely not. Just like some snowboard clothes (maybe even lighter). Just temperature says nothing about how cold outside. Air humidity and wind have very strong impact on heat conduction from your body.
isitafox
Got to agree there, when I work nights in the winter it sometimes gets down to -15 but feels way colder in the day when it's around freezing. I would assume that has something to do with the humidity.
alanczik
Wooooow I'm actually really suprised that you know what Lapland is! Lapland is an Expression for some were far far away (were i live) i cant imagin riding in -20 most of the year i ride after sunset because the sun is too strong i saw bmxers ride with Towels around there neck (like the American soldiers in Vietnam) to take the sweat of there faces
