showurcolours
Hey dude welcome, I was in Colchester at the uni for 3 years but have just left. I still visit every now and again, I've only just started trials myself but I'm keen to ride around there so will let you know when I'm around

showurcolours
Oh right sweet, well here is definitely the place if you need any advice If your from a MTB background, a stock will probably feel the most natural for you
James Q
Yeah? I'm not to sure what wheel size to go for? I quite like the idea of starting with a 20 inch first.
showurcolours
Well stock (26") is what your MTB most likely is. 20" (mod) is probably the easiest to learn trials on because it's generally smaller and lighter, thus easier to maneuver. 24" is for street which is basically BMX/trials combined - that's what I ride atm, personally I've found it hard to learn the trials stuff on it but I've only had it a month so yeah 26" (stock) in all honesty I have no idea the benefits of this, apart from that if your a taller/larger rider you won't feel so cramped compared to a 20" and the fact that it's larger means you have more reach for some gaps. If you're still struggling, tarty bikes have a product guide or look at the video section on here and look at different types of riders. The GetCreative competition has a nice mix of all bikes and will help you chose. I would say look at the pro's but that's just misleading IMO. Hope that helps
James Q
Cheers dude, I find the 26inch on my MTB good but feel it will properly be too big to learn trails on, my gut feeling is telling me to go for a 20 inch, I can always up grade at a later date lol. showurcolours
Well, I rode a 26" the other day for the first time and it felt completely different to my 24" but that's more because of the geo. In all honesty, if you're serious about trials then a 20" would probably be best. Their usually cheaper than 26" and definitely (this is just a guess but seems most peoples opinion) much easier to learn on.
James Q
I'm going to be looking at a Saracen trails bike tomoz with 20inch wheels so we'll see how that goes.
showurcolours
Ok cool, just do your research on what bike. Post here or in another topic the model and see what more experienced users think, they might be able to point you towards a better bike for your money!
