dezmtber
ok the idea i have is for a 24" that will feel like i am on my mod but with extra weight and larger wheels great for training. i have a seat post design in there to make it versitile enough to ride the short ride to and from work, as most my training is done during my commute. any thoughts ? Luke Rainbird
What are you "training" for? In other news; That looks f**king disgusting. Where on earth have you pulled those numbers from?! Phenomenally high BB and short wheelbase is going to feel rancid, even with that long stem on there. Lengthen the WB a little, drop the BB a LOT and you'll be getting back into the right sort of ballpark again. How long is the commute that you'll be using this for? Gearing will be a battle if it's more than a couple of miles. I'm not sure if you've tried to combine mod/24" geo by just pinching random numbers from each, but whatever it is you've done you're doing it oh so very wrong! Edit. Since the image appears to be gone again: Wb: 1015mm Cs: 375mm BB: +110mm Head tube: 100mm Seat tube: 160mm Crudely salvaged from a thumbnail
Revolver
That seat tube is so small, it won't be useful.
isitafox
No, +110 with a 100mm headtube? Stem will have to be massive even for a short lad like yourself
Sam Nichols
Am I the only person who can't see the geo anywhere?!
JDâ„¢
Where's everyone getting this info from? I see no pictures or measurements
isitafox
Hmm, must have got lost when I merged the topics??!!
dezmtber
The pic doesn't seem to show on mobile for some reason. Custom ain't custom if its not mental. The post will be a alloy extention of the frame and will have a post fitted ontop of it.
N.Wood
That sounds kinda similar to Pete Wrights frame Fresh Products did for him geo wise, i.e huge bb and tiny stays. Anyways apart from the fact it unbolted its self after the first ride, when it was still in one piece it rode like a bag of dogshit.
Jake.
Here's a better pic guys: Personally I think it's a f**king stupid geo...
Luke Rainbird
Custom ain't custom if its not mental. Er, yes, it is. I get what you're doing with the extension. Weird and unnecessary but whatever. It's more the ridiculous WB/BB combo and so on. Tweak it to 1025, +35 or so and you will be much better off.
LEON
That looks disgusting, even the numbers look disgusting. Why not just spend £50 on a cheap mountain bike for the commute and ride outside work hours?
Mark W
Having a really steep seat tube set quite far forward with an overly high BB = You need to film yourself sitting down pedalling on that. EDIT: +110mm BB, 600mm reach and a 1015mm WB suggests a fruity head angle?
Ali C
worst.geo.ever. Like not even good for anything. Sorry to sound harsh, but if you're really considering that as a feasable idea then I'm lost for words, I still kinda hoping this is a joke and I'm waiting patiently for the punchline.
FamilyBiker
i was only joking with my "telescope seatpost" comment in the other thread and now this? edit:to say something topic-related,490 tt is a kids bike,my sons gt slammer has that exactly.he´s 7. Ali C
perhaps Cytech should do courses on frame geo
JDâ„¢
I don't think any frame sketch has ever made me laugh and worry about being sick in my mouth at the same time before. Congrats.

Mark W
One thing about all this talk of needing a seat to commute - really? I've had to ride 3-4 miles each way to a train station to then get a train to work before, and I did that on a Zoo mod. When I lived in London I commuted on a BMX (which I didn't really sit down on because there was no point). You don't have to compromise your bike just because you're commuting.

dezmtber
should i buy a protractor, i think i am missing a vital part in this does any one know what head angle this would make, or would that be tellin
Jo Prattley
why not just buy a mtb bike for £1 from a police auction .. this way you can have a mod bike AND a bike for your commute .. i dont think compromise is a word that should be associated with trials riding at all ! Luke Rainbird
Head angle's the least of your worries at this stage.
