Lewis Gething
Hi guys, A few months back I made a topic asking which shoes Benito wears, and was told he uses the FG Trial shoes, but since I can't find that topic to post my question in, I have had to make this new one. According to the FG Trial website, these shoes were meant to be available back in August, but having searched all over the internet, I cannot seem to find them for sale anywhere. Other riders such as Dave Kerr and Oliver Battye, seemed to have gotten their hands on some, but that could be down to the fact that they are both beastly riders, and could have been sent some directly from the company. So does any one have any inside knowledge on when these shoes will actually be available to purchase? Otherwise I will have to go for some RIbos instead, as my plimsolls are getting pretty awful to ride in Thanks, Lewis.

Jake.
Five tens are good once they've worn in a bit, far too stiff at first haha.

ghostrider88
How long do these shoes last as im very interested in getting a riding specific shoe. They aren´t riding specific but I would bet my pocket money that they outlast any trial specific shoe on the market lol.
showurcolours
Five tens are good once they've worn in a bit, far too stiff at first haha. I was actually going to ask if anyone bought any FiveTens, I would probably get the high top pair... So if anyone has any FiveTens; are they any good? isitafox
How long do these shoes last as im very interested in getting a riding specific shoe. I wear mine most days, I've had them a few months now and they still look new. Also the grip is insane on my tr platforms
Jake.
I was actually going to ask if anyone bought any FiveTens, I would probably get the high top pair... So if anyone has any FiveTens; are they any good? They're incredibly grippy, I find myself having to lift my whole foot off the pedal to adjust my foot position... Once they wear in a bit and you're used to them, they're a very solid pair of shoes for street riding. If I were to buy another pair I'd probably get the freeride version, not the danny mac one. i like cunning stunts
Very happy with the terrex solos at the minute best shoes for me for trials.

I just looked and the hightops that were on there a couple a weeks a go aren't on anymore The freeriders pro look nice in white - might get those for christmas...to myself, from myself

Jake.
Ahh, my bad Dave Which Five Tens are they then? These maybe? http://fiveten.com/i...ennie-37-3.html I use these, they're damn sturdy and my feet NEVER ache anymore when riding. I used to have sore feet sometimes from some thin shoes I wore. http://fiveten.com/products/footwear-detail/12014-freerider-pro-danny-macaskill Alternately get these, some people just hate the black/blue colour scheme of the danny macaskill ones so much haha. My Dad uses these, and they're not as reinforced, and they don't have trials in mind as much but they're just as good (excluding small things like stronger heel protection, slightly softer gel padding etc). http://fiveten.com/products/footwear-detail/19-freerider-black-grey Edited November 22, 2012 by JMCD
ben_travis
My only comments regarding the Five Tens is to make sure you get a sole with the big spots on the bottom, rather than the small dots. I have the small dots on a pair of them just now and they wear out significantly faster than the big spots
Matthew62
What about the new ones coming which are spot-less.....
ben_travis
lol. i havent tried those, but i wouldnt like to ride on flat soled shoes. possible recipe for disaster until the pins have worn into the sole a little?
Matthew62
That's what i'm wondering. I need a new pair but not sure if to go for the same again or wait a little while and try these ones? Apparently they're more sticky, but you don't get trapped in the way you can do with the standard pattern.
showurcolours
So the general consensus is that 5tens are good then? I don't just want something that grips well, they've gotta be comfortable as well as offering some protection to my toes (I've managed to break/fracture 9 of them during my illustrious sports career )
CalopS
I think the danny mac ones have a re-enforced toe for footjams to they might be a good option for you.

isitafox
The terrex solos have a reinforced toe, look for b graded pairs on ebay
