Blake
Right, basically i've got a mountain bike with slicks that I use for commuting, and I was cycling back from my girlfriends earlier and I realised, I could probably due with some lights on this bike to make it a true granny mobile. I don't want bikehut ones as i've had them before and they just fall apart when you go off a curb. I was looking at this on chainreaction but before I get I was wondering what everyones experiences were? don't really want to spend over a tenner. Jake.
"IF you go for a GOOD light" and you should be able to get one for £60. Well worth it!
dezmtber
There's amazing deals on light and motion solo lights. Rechargable too. If that's too pricey try the knog Blinder
Martin Reynolds
If you go for a good light get the cateye nano lite plus. I love it how whenever someone asks for something, u suggest the opposite. want a set of forks with long steer, and u suggest 160mm. want a light under a tenner, you suggest a £60-80 one Edited November 19, 2012 by Martin Reynolds

At least I don't make people want to delete their thread.
Blake
but a light 8 times the price of my asking point is a pretty stupid thing to post

Jake.
Right... Sorry then, moving on. George do you want lights so that you're seen by cars or lights so that you can see in the dark? If you want to be seen you don't need to spend more than a fiver, and if you want to see well then expect to pay around £30 for a decent one x Martin iirc I did use 20mm stem stacker, not 100% sure. Blake
might put one from my shed no the back so I can be seen. and one on the front so I can see a bit in front of me. Might have a decent one in the shed actually. why didn't I check the f**king shed before I made this topic?
bikeperson45
Cheap torch and duct tape does the job for me, these fancy little clip on ones don't do the job in my opinion.
Pashley26
I have an eXposure 6 pack, if you let me know when you're riding at night I'll turn it on so you can see your way home.

Sam Nichols
At £10 I assume you're just looking for lights that will stop you getting hit by cars and also stop you getting in trouble with the five-o's? I bought these: http://imagethumbnails.milo.com/007/766/775/trimmed/7766790_8078775_trimmed.jpg They're £7 a pair from Asda for some reason I can't find them anywhere online in the UK but they sell them in the bike section in store) They're surprisingly bright, cheap and tool-less so you can switch them easily between bikes. Handy for if you fancy a night ride on the trials bike.

Tomm
Those tiny rubbery wrap around LED lights are so shit it's unbelievable. I've nearly hit people with them on a few occasions, they're just not bright enough to be seen (particularly under the glare of headlights which completely drown them out). If you really can't bear to spend more than a tenner, just get some from Decathlon, I'm sure they do must some basic LED ones for cheap. But don't whine when you get run over. If you actually want to be seen, get one of these for the rear http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=56550 and then one of these for the front http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290778308356?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 £25 for the pair. Those torches are insanely bright, probably good enough for off road (I've not tried though). Battery life is a couple of hours but they come with 2 batteries and a recharger so it's all good. As above, zip tie / gaffa tape to your helmet. I bought a helmet mount off ebay for a few quid but you don't really need it.
