ghostrider88
Having a totally different distribution network that would allow them to get pure trials bikes into more conventional bike shops might be enough though... This might be right but...I think almost everyone here bought his bike/frame from trial shop, mostly because these shops usually know what they are selling, also because I wouldn´t even bother asking in regular bike shop. Not sure if someone who doesn´t even know what trials is would buy seatless bike from his lbs either. So it might be benefical for those who are trials riders already, but if they aren´t cheaper/much better designed or ideally both I would still prefer "classic" trials brand of a frame at least, it´s kinda cool when people ask you about koxx, zoo or echo because they never heard of those manufacturers if you know what I mean. dngr2self
True revolver but I said America as its potentially a bigger more lucrative market, and if they were successful it would help the sport here as well. I guess that might be due to where you're based though - in the UK, Onza bikes are sold in quite a few 'normal' bike shops. I think that helps a lot for parents who are buying bikes for their kids because they get to go in, speak to someone, look at the bike, etc. - we get quite a few calls from parents umming and ahhing about getting a bike simply because they're so alien. If they were able to see them in person I think it'd resolve a lot of that. So yeah, I think the sort of culture of it might affect it a bit too. If the American market is anything like the UK market then I think it could theoretically work alright if they price them well.
robintrial
i still think it's cool that a more known brand makes a trial bike, it could attract people that never heard of it before, they start searching about trial and could become new trial riders so that's a good thing for the sport. and the geo sounds good imo different but maybe it works
ghostrider88
That´s what I was trying to say, it´s more about who is selling them than what they are, most bike shops doesn´t have a clue what trials is lol.
Mark W
That's sort of what I was getting at though - that can change. A lot of independent shops (probably not going to be the same throughout more corporate shops where employees won't have any interest) in the UK have staff who have awareness of trials simply because they know what an Onza is. They might not know the full ins and outs of it, but it's definitely a start. If GT manage to get the same sort of thing going that could change things relatively quickly I'd imagine. ghostrider88
and the geo sounds good imo different but maybe it works How does the geo sound different? There is plenty of high BB comp frames with simmilar or the same WB. That's sort of what I was getting at though - that can change. Brian Bleech
I would like to see an street trials (with a seat) frame in the classic GT Zaskar triple triangle style. That would be pretty cool. Or just a street trials version of the Ruckus would look sweet too.

Endohopper
How did other mainstream manufacturer's trial bikes / frames fare on the rare occasions that actually happened ? I recall Colnago , Bianchi and of course the Giant offerings ( no , not that famous speculative blue proto ) so does Giant still offer their trial frame ? If they couldn't sustain it with their colossal organization and distribution then G.T may struggle . On the other hand , as pointed out they do have Mr.Belaey on board and it's been several years since a big bike Co. attempted this .
monkeyseemonkeydo
Is Inspired still under the Mountain Cycle 'umbrella'? Or am I making that up...
