isitafox
He's been running a Kenda on the rear that he's modified himself, not sure what model though.
Rockman
He's using a Kenda Nevegal 2.5, it's 800g and I got told it uses the same carcass as the old Try-all tyre. Meant to be pretty good.
Jake.
Ah I didn't realize there was an echo 24 in the video. Oops! Is the kenda nevegal a good tyre? I'm just looking at tyres at the moment, and may consider trying some lighter ones out if they're cheap
isitafox
£30 for the 2.5 on chain reaction, says it's a 50 durometer
Lewis Gething
I have a 26x2.5 Nevegal, but I am pretty much 100% sure that it is over 1 kg. Definitely one to avoid if you want to make your bike lighter Jake

Lewis Gething
Yeah, I think mine must be the wire beaded version then, because there is no way my Nevegal weighs 860ish
Jake.
Aha. That's why! I've always wondered if wire is really worth the extra 200g, because I never notice must difference between Kevlar and wire tyres.
dezmtber
That front tyre looks good, might try it. Just realized Jack Carthy is using a fat albert 2.4 on his bike, and I looked it up and it weighs in around 650g. Surely it has no grip/punctures all the time?? they do a 24" version i was going to get for my big bike
Jake.
they do a 24" version i was going to get for my big bike I had the 24" version, it was quite good. Punctured easily though. He's using a Kenda Nevegal 2.5, it's 800g and I got told it uses the same carcass as the old Try-all tyre. Meant to be pretty good. Think I've just found it, this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kenda-Tomac-Nevegal-Tire-26inch-x-2-35inch-Black-Kevlar-Stick-E-60-TPI-/280918803384?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item416810c3b8 780g. This is the 2.5 version, 980g. http://www.bikeman.com/TR5247.html They both look flimsy as f**k. Edited November 23, 2012 by JMCD
