bing
Please don't put grease on the back of your pads! it's the same problem the Tech Trial brake had, sand the back of the pad until it is bare metal, then as you ride it the pad will get slightly worn on the back so it does't move as much. That's what Tarty Adam told me and it worked a treat! arh ok. I'll try that then. was gonna put a little dab of copper slip on the back
dezmtber
Looks good I can't wait to go out riding with some rain now so you can feel the dual disc at its best

LEON
What lever is it? The new M596? I had an m595 (pic) and it just wasn't good enough for trials. But I have an even cheaper older M486 which is brilliant. Trying to gauge how good the new ones are.
bing
it's the new servo wave lever, can't remember the code. still not got it bedded in right yet, think the pads are goosed, ordered a new set from where I got it from. then hopefully all should be well
dezmtber
its this one there a little better than the older ones imo
ghostrider88
arh ok. I'll try that then. was gonna put a little dab of copper slip on the back Also make sure there´s no oil on the pistons aswell, sanding pads + clean pistons made day/night difference. I would buy better pads too if you have stock pads, they aren´t very good, cheap fastop(or clarks) organic pads are miles better.
trials hoe
clarks organic pads i got some of these for my xt, for a fiver i doubt you'll get any better
ghostrider88
i got some of these for my xt, for a fiver i doubt you'll get any better Even for twice that, they are cheap only because they wear down quickly (they are softer than resin shimano pads), but that´s not a concern in trials as long as you don´t ride DH in muddy conditions on trials bike too
williams
I found that dual disc helped me ride smoother and somewhat changed my style:) But I snapped my disc tab on the rear after like 1 month of riding. Sooo back to maguras again haha!

ghostrider88
cheers mate, much appreciated. any tips for good bedding in? Just clean the rotor and ride, it takes only few minutes to bed such a soft pads in.
trials hoe
water on the rotor too, worked well with mine sounded like an accordion for a bit though
bing
have cleaned the new rotor, and completely degreaser it. was gonna bed it in with cold water
BradJohnson
Find a big hill ride down it as fast as possible whilst dragging the break then pour cold water on the rotor repeat 2/3 times depending on hill size, worked a treat for me. Also I was using standard pads that came with the break they worked pretty well!
Azarathal
Brads method can glaze them, do a few short, sharp stops with your weight over the rear so your wheel doesn't just lock up. After each short sharp stop chuck a bit of water on, probably only need to do once or twice

Canardweb
How much does this brake costs? Any link? How does it compare to a Hope?
bing
you can get them off chain reaction for £40, but i dont know how much the shipping would be to france. but they dont come with disks or adapters. i got a deal on mine where i got 2 disks and the right adapter for the rear for not a lot. its this one http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=67246 ive only ever had one hope brake, a mono trial and it was shite. wouldnt have another. i run this shimano and an echo tr and they are both very good, loads of bite and hold
dezmtber
I bed mine in with a simple ride into town, no special water cooling or owt
