Have a look at the importing restrictions for nz. You may find out otherwise. The Elements are awesome bikes worth getting one from anywhere.

Like I said though shoot Expressive Bikes a nice email with what you are after and they may find something that suits you and your buget in the Inspired range. No harm in asking.

I will be going to NZ soon so it would be good to ride if you get one :)

Realistically if you buy from Expressive that is far closer to you if you had a problem with the bike (It can happen) it's got to be easier for you to deal with someone closer to you keeping cost's shipping down and so on, Plus once you pay tax and postage your not really saving anything. I would take the Advice of Lewis on this one

Just FYI, if you click on the little flag in the top left on the Tartybikes website you can change it to New Zealand, this then lets you find out the total price including postage one you've put the bike in your basket.

It comes to £961.50 incl postage which is 1,878.31 of your New Zealand dollars.

In fairness, £150 to ship a bike to the other side of the world isn't that bad really..

i called up tarty and they said that they would ensure the bike was packaged carefully, and they would mark the price down so that i could get charged less tax in nz! also it would only take 6 to 8 days to get here from across the world that pretty good if you ask me! and it works out all up with insured shipping 2165 nz dollars from tarty, and 2245 from expressive. so it looks like i will be making a purchase from tarty! what do you guys think?

hey cheers guys, i had a look on tarty bikes and it said i would get charged 0 tax, but i am not sure if i will get taxed if it enters the country or not, if i buy from expressisive bikes i am looking at about 2 grand!! thats alot! is it worth it?

You won't get charged the regular tax like we do in the UK. But when the bike enters the country you'll have to pay your countries taxes.

I find it hard to believe tarty would state a difference price on the customs forms. Might want to check on that again.

I think something may have been misinterpreted there, sorry! Marking the value down is illegal and since the bike comes in an Inspired box, it's very easy for customs officers to check the 'real' value - they have the last say in what duties and taxes you get charged and can add on a fine if they see fit...

This tool will help you calculate import fees for your country: http://www.dutycalcu...ax-calculation/

I think if i were in this guys shoes id buy local rather than import to save a few quid as because he seems to be new to trials he Will be far more likely to encounter a problem with the any bike and in turn Will need to shell out at least whatever he saves back in postage and may be entirely without bike for weeks.
