VAMPIRE V12
Hey guys. I'm looking to get a new stock frame pretty soon but i would like to know what are the advantages of having a high bb? Or what to look for in a frame to help keep it sat on its rear tyre? Thank you guys
Blake
what's your current bb rise?
isitafox
High BB makes it easier to balance on rear wheel but not as stable for 2 wheel moves
VAMPIRE V12
what's your current bb rise? At i guess i would say about -10 lmfaoo its an old 2005 zoo pitbull. And ive seen people running mod stems on 26'' stocks does that have anything to do with the bb rise?
isitafox
Yup, higher BB means bars need to go higher to compensate. Not 100% but I think 05's were +10mm

BradJohnson
High BB's are to boyooo! Pro's Makes the bike feel flicky and light. sits on the rear wheel comfortably side hops are easier (well for me they are) Con's Things are harder to get to bash ring bunny hops to rear are harder (pedal ups/taps compensate anyway)

Martin Reynolds
It hasnt got the full built in booster, just a bit of ally shaped in a 'x', but im pretty sure the bb height is +50 and it sits on the back wheel lovely I'm going to rob you!!!! lmfaooo i really do want one of them Good luck, the bikes in my kitchen
aener
Don't apologize. Limey 4s, Sky 2s and Slate XLs all have +70 Judging from you lack of asking, it probably won't concern you, but when you get towards the higher end of BB rise, anything much streety becomes a bit spastic to handle.

Danny00135
going from an 05 pitbull, it's going to feel so weird.. step in the right direction choosing an x-ray, neon don't half make some decent bikes excellent geo too
Blake
if you've got a bike for street you might as well get something that is meant for rear wheel only, my GU has +60bb and it's really nice, but you don't really need to do any correction hops on rear which is strange. But it does take getting used to, but is nice once you do.
BradJohnson
Like Flipp said, Going from your Zoot to a pure highrise comp bike will be wierd, you'll end up riding one more than the other so one will be sold i bet. best thing to do, is learn the basics on your pitbull, i'll teach you everthing i can eg) sidehops, up to rears, and gaps then once you get a compy bike everything should be much easier.
N.Wood
I prefer around +55. Otherwise it feels shit for anything other than backhopping. A good advantage of a higher bb is more clearance on hooks for natural.
SamKidney
Ive been a +70 fan since my Ice 2. Liked that, my bro's Limey 320, the Rockman XL's and love the Sky 2's also. My Echo 24" is lush too. Having said that, one of the nicest stocks Ive ridden was my Ozonys Curve V1, which is around +55 I believe. Sat on the rear wheel nicely and 2 wheeled control was sweet too. dezmtber
A stupid idea I have been playing with is set your cranks ofset by one spline it kindof gives you a feel of a high bb. But don't try pedaling full rotations its feels crap. But just to see how it feels on the back wheel and going up stuff. It gives you a fairly good idea how it may feel

ghostrider88
got told it was a 2005 frame, and yeah i fancied a neon It´s too hard to say based on those pics you posted in bike pics thread, but those dropouts and headtube look like mine and mine is deffo 2006 Edit after another look top tube and down tube are further away, so I was most likely wrong.
