Disappointing Outcome From A Lewes Ride, First Edit Though.

Poor edit I know, plus half my clips had disappeared through a video converter thing, and using a very slow laptop doesn't help...

Hope you enjoy. Edit: Wow I think the music isn't on it? Ffs...

I think next time I'm going to try filming in a lower res.

That was just fast pictures? lol

Yeah : It's like 1000fps when I look at the raw footage on my phone though... :S

Yeah, shame it hasn't worked out Jake as I would have loved to see an edit from you. Which converter did you end up using to get the 2fps video :P ?

"Any Video Converter", I converted the files from MP4 to WMV and edited in windows movie maker...

I tried videopad with the MP4 files, the clips seemed to be playing at 1/4 speed... And the audio was ahead etc.

I think I just need a better laptop.

Oh, like I say thats a shame :( I can't comment on Movie Maker since I have a Mac, but with Videopad, the clips were probably just being rendered at a slower speed as your computer wouldn't have been able to process the video quick enough, but when you actually export the video you should find it plays fine when viewing in Finder/My computer. Another reason is the fact that Videopad doesn't have real time rendering I don't think. The solution would be to get a new machine :/

Ah awesome, I'd love to have a mac. Yeah, this seems to struggle really hard with video software. It can't even run youtube videos at 1080p without lag (with it fully loaded), whereas my old Quad core 8gb ram PC before could do everything effortlessly...

Meh.

New laptop time :P

Yeah, they're so easy to use :) Don't know what sort of a budget you have, but you could get some decent performance out of something like this: http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=core+2+duo+macbook&hl=en&safe=off&prmd=imvns&biw=1024&bih=979&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=14629950566184953448&sa=X&ei=5_-XULGAMKuo0AW0t4EI&ved=0CGgQ8wIwAQ#ps-sellers provided you put at least 4GB RAM in it. Wont be as fast as the likes of todays iMacs, but you will still benefit more from the Operating system than a pc and you'll still be able to get videos done no problem. My iMac has 16GB RAM, but you shouldn't need any more than 4GB for casual creative use :D

Hmm I like the look of this http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/lenovo-ideapad-z750-15-6-laptop-silver-12377721-pdt.html

I also like this one, it's refurbished though http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/toshiba-satellite-l850-166-refurbished-15-6-laptop-13985256-pdt.html

I'd say my max budget is £400, but ideal budget is £300.
