CalRobbo341
You will have to go to a smaller ring up front.Pictures?
ginge
I cant find a smaller ring because its a bolt on one i cant find a 5 bolt 18t or anywhere
CalopS
I don't know much about those types of cranks but can't he space the crank/sprocket out a bit? How much is it rubbing?

Oh, could have said. Go for 18-15 gearing? Or 18-16 if you feel weak?
ginge
Its rubbing so much you cant even turn the cranks at all!!
VAMPIRE V12
I had this problem on my zoo pitbull in the end it chewed away a bit of the chain stay and i added spaces to the crank arms to sort it out
ginge
What sort of spacers did you use and can i get hold of any?
Endohopper
I doubt you'll find a smaller chainring than 22t for a conventional 4 bolt crankset , but a wider bottom bracket and or spacers on the driveside may help .
J.KYDD
Is it extarnal BB, or an older Sq taper/Octalink? If its one of the older ones, then just a longer BB will sort you out. With those cranks (64mm BCD inner), the smallest ring you can run is a 22t If it is a newer Hollowtech 2 system with the extarnal bearings, I don't think there's much that can be done. I had a simialar issue afew years ago with an Adamant A1 and Middleburn cranks, I filed away a step into the frame. Old Deng frames are tough as anything, so if that is what you have to do I wouldnt worry about strength!
SamKidney
Id just buy some trial specific cranks and Bb. Correct offset, and you can get a more compact gear ratio set up.
BradJohnson
The only real way would be to get an actual trials bb, and cranks, As a matter of fact i have some for sale, will do the set for £53 posted.
VAMPIRE V12
i had some spacers from old cranks left over from some bmx bikes and a few 3bit cranks off some dirt jump bikes i used a crank puller and added a small spacer and it fit. Running octalink cranks 22t front with a 18t rear running an onza tensioner and a kmc k810
FamilyBiker
mountain goat does make a 20t chainwheel,64 bcd, you´d have to modify the crank with a file though,i think http://www.mountain-...n&products_id=9 and get the steel one!
