morriente
Hi everyone, Ive just acquired a 26" Onza SpyroGyro as my first Trials bike but i'm having a wee bit trouble. The bike does not have standard bars or headset and they appear to be from a DH mountain-bike, Im 6'1' and it feels like the geometry or something is off. The bars feel too close to me and it feels like the crank is not that much lower than the bars. I had a wee play on a 20" Onza in a shop and it felt like there was much more room on it and it felt easier to get on to the back wheel and hop. Would the bars and headset make that much difference? Im an ex MX rider and have had a motorcycle trials bike for years and I'm also a reasonable mountain-biker. Also are there any Fife riders out there? Thanks
ooo
The bars and stem make a huge difference, it's worth getting a photo of the setup posted, then people may be more able to help.
bing
yeah, bang a photo up and someone will sort you out. spyrogyro's are 26 if I remember. get a minimum 120 x 30 stem and some high rise trials bars with the right upsweep and rake
dezmtber
get a photo up pal i used to sell these at the shop i worked at a couple of years ago, they should have a stem simmilar to this. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/26_inch_stems/trialtech_race_welded/c41p10461.html 120 x 20 should feel better. although i would be tempted with a 90mm

morriente
Finally managed to get some pics attached. Im thinking that the stems too short and not enough angle and the bars are too flat!
bing
bars look ok ish, but stem is deffo too short and flat. 125 x 30 at the least is needed
Pete.M
bars look ok ish, but stem is deffo too short and flat. 125 x 30 at the least is needed 30 seems a bit high for a low bb stock? I'd suggest 115 x 20 ish...
Ali C
a trialtech 20X17 sport stem will transform that bike
isitafox
Missed a 1 off there Ali, he means 120x17° which can be found here http://www.tartybike.../c41p10429.html
morriente
Thanks guys, i'll give that one a go. I'd already tried a 130x10° which i found in the shed but it felt terrible. It sounds like the120x17° will bring the bars up and in a bit. I'll post how i get on.
