D Linden :)
Hello, I'm getting sticky pistons all the time and was wondering what the best lubricant to use on them is, I've been using GT85 but have recently been told that's whats making them go sticky????? Thanks!
dezmtber
O ring lube/ silicon oil or the oil used to bleed the brake is the best to free the pistons
D Linden :)
Ok cheers, where can I get some oring oil?
D Rock 45
GT85 will help clean the gunk out and unstick the pistions but as a lubricator i dont think its good enough for it. Use GT85 then dry and use some 3in1 oil or as said above. Also It helps if you clean them out once in a wile
Blake
any light oil is usable, once cleaned with gt85/wd40. Light cycle oil from halfords is good.
D Linden :)
Ok so GT85, clean then oil them all? What's the best way to clean the pistons in the cylinders? Edited October 20, 2012 by D Linden :)
trialsiain
i used silicon gun oil and it worked a treat, dont get any on floor though unless you want a broken neck
dezmtber
Use brake cleaner or electrical contact cleaner. They contain isopropal alcohol which is the best cleaner aroundYou can get oring oil from a car parts shop
