Kevinfor
Okay so earlier today I was out riding and found a couple of large tyres and though they looked like something I could hook. Not having tried a hook before I thought it would be a good idea to put a pallet infront (later removed it and found it easier without). It was about chin hight and it took me a while to build up enough currage to try it. Anyways have a look and see if you can give me any hints on how to improve. Pardon the crap quality.. Thanks a lot! Kevin
Jake.
I can't do hooks myself... But, you need to compress your chest into the bars as soon as the bike hits the obstacle. Quickly pull on the bars to throw the energy upwards, then throw the bike upwards and imagine you're tucking after doing a pedal-up. A bit complicated but once the technique is dialed it shouldn't be too hard... I did one on 7/8 pallets stacked, but with a sloping pallet, took me about 30 tries and a few sore knee hits to the stem. Can't wait to get it dialed without a sloped pallet. N.Wood
Hooks are all about the front wheel, not the rear. The last thing you wanna do is hit the rear wheel into the wall first.
