peterjordan86
Hi all, I've got a problem my my DJ3 forks topping out every time I lift the front end, it sounds awful, and doesn't exactly inspire much confidence. I've checked the air pressure, and tried all the settings of rebound and travel, but no luck. Are they just shafted? Or are they fixable? Cheers Pete. TROYston
Pre-load? I know if thats on your forks will sound like a pile of turd. Do the lowers, drop lower when you pick the front end up?
peterjordan86
Not from the weight of the front end, only when I lift up sharply to manual or hop! (so when there is weight on the bike already)
ross87
What year are they? Ive got a set of 2003 DJ3's that used to do that. All I did to fix the clunky top out was to add a touch more fork oil to each leg.
SamKidney
Mine did the very same. 08 DJ3's. I just put up with it haha, but yeah, adding a tad more fork oil stopped it to an extent.
peterjordan86
I think they're 2007. Thanks for the answers, I'll give it a go. Does anyone know what sort of oil they take? What weight?
ross87
I think all DJ series for up to about 2010 models take 7.5wt fork oil. Can be picked upi quite cheap. If in doubt check the Marzocchi website they have all the oil weights and cc's you should put in each leg on there but as I have said, just add a touch more if it tops out badly
FamilyBiker
maybe the rebound springs are broken?was the case on my 2004 ones
JonNicholson95
they are marzocchi, i have a set of 55r's on my mountain bike and they are shocking, weigh a tonne, top out and only travel about 90mm out of the 140mm and i have heard its a common problem with marzocchi forks and when people have sent them for a service they have worked for a short time and then gone back to how they were
