Duncy H
I'm sure we've all got a few stories of crappy parcel companies. Today I got an email saying DPD will deliver my parcel between 10:20 and 11:20. So I came back at ten and have been sat in since. Get a notification that at half past 10 the parcel was delivered and signed for by me. Now the thing is, I didn't sign for it and have no parcel so what am I meant to do? Another story. At work a parcel force can pulled up outside and went into the office with a parcel. I walked out onto the workshop floor and noticed the parcel force van rolling towards the wharehouse with no one in and there was a brand new 911 turbo inside the front door. Luckily it hit the shutters but crushed them and made a right mess! Anybody got any stories or know what I should do about my mystery parcel? Mark W
Your best bet is probably to make yourself a nice drink, pull up a chair, give DPD a call then sit there on hold for a while until someone in a call centre "Passes you through" then accidentally cuts you off.
J.KYDD
At work we gave DHL a trial run to take over our small parcel export deliveries. Never again. Ever.
Greetings
Well, I've got some stories with UPS which will fake a delivery if they cannot deliver it next day using the Saver option (means they have to refund you the shipping costs). On one occasion I didn't get what I ordered next day but tracking said that the courier left a note in "the grey mailbox" because I wasn't at home although I was in all day. After some phone calls to the UPS office I was told that if I'm dissatisfied with their service, I should just go somewhere else. The twat wasn't aware that I had an account with them so I took his details and closed my account the following day forwarding his details to my consultant. Hope he lost his job. A few days later, the courier arrived with my parcel, told me that he tried to deliver it a few days earlier but nobody was in. I asked him to point to the "grey mailbox" in which he apparently left a note. He said he doesn't know what I'm talking about. He also claimed to have called me several times but I didn't answer, so I gave him my phone and asked him to find his number in the call history. He said he's not going to do that, and rather than admit to making it all up he just stormed off. I didn't manage to claim a refund because I was told that the package hadn't been delivered because I was not at home. I've been using UPS since that mishap which happened 4 years ago and it's been reliable. But it took me quite a long time to trust those twats again. Ben Swales
Ah DPD... always a pleasure.
Revolver
DPD are one of the best, in my experience. Yodel and HDNL are the worst. Motherf**kers didn't even leave a card when they tried to deliver my shit. For duncan, they'll have a record of who signed for it, so they'll know it wasn't you. Mark W
Is Yodel the random one where it's just 'someone' who turns up to deliver your parcel? Every time we've had a delivery from them it's been someone in a little hatchback with her kid in the front seat. Weird...
N.Wood
Yeah we've had some weird ones from Yodel, usually old women with dream catchers around their necks and wolf t shirts.
Revolver
I've seen that from a few companies, including DHL, IIRC. It makes you think, 'Oh, I didn't order a pizza. Wait, it's the shit I ordered from amazon.' Edited October 16, 2012 by Revolver
manuel
Ive heard royal mail are a bunch of muppets... also - in your initial case - its probably at the neighbours, in which case you go and get the stuff, then contact the delivery company to say its not your signature, it gets set as a lost item and you get your money back from the seller as they claim on the delivery companies insurance policy. Shitty link are the worst delivery company in the world, their ability to not attempt delivery and not bother with a card is unparalleled.
Jake.
www.parcelmonkey.com is probably the best courier service I've used, ever. And the cheapest rates too, just a heads up to my fellow forumers.
Tony Harrison
For a while once I had Royal Mail coming to the door without the parcel, just the card, and not bothering to knock... City Link are pretty bad, I agree.
Jolfa
APC were always my favourites when I was doing flocking. Just typically useless not knocking, not turning up etc but ontop of that, they had a real bad habit of phoning me saying that they had a parcel for me and they were outside... The other side of the country... With a parcel not addressed to me...
Tomm
For a while once I had Royal Mail coming to the door without the parcel, just the card, and not bothering to knock... Yeah, I caught them in the act doing that - I heard the letterbox, found the card and went outside to find postie walking off. He didn't have the parcel on him. I reckon they just leave vaguely heavy items at the sorting office so they don't have to carry them round all day (this guy was on foot). Duncy H
Well I have my parcel. Turns out they delivered it to number 10, my house is number two. There was no one in there so they put it in the blue bin and posted a note through the door. But yet it says it was signed for I never had a note or anything to say it was left at another address. Turns out they bed pack the wrong stuff in my order too I've heard the one before about them trying to sneak in a note rather than trying to make a delivery too. Also I think it is yodel that sometimes do deliveries and its just some random woman in a land rover freelander.
Tony Harrison
Claim you never received it. I wouldn't put up with sloppy unreliable service like that. If I didn't sign, and they say I did, then I'd hold them to account.
Tom Booth
Yodel kept delivering to someone 2 miles away for me an my old boss. Was rediculous. We discovered who had them, told them to not accept them an refer them to our unit yet yodel driver refused an carried on delivering there. Muppet.
