Laurence--Trials
"Red Bull Stratos is a mission to the edge of space that will try to surpass human limits that have existed for more than 50 years. Supported by a team of experts, Felix Baumgartner will undertake a stratospheric balloon flight to more than 120,000 feet / 36,576 meters and make a record-breaking freefall jump in the attempt to become the first man to break the speed of sound in freefall (an estimated 690 miles / 1,110 kilometers per hour), while delivering valuable data for medical and scientific advancement." Rusevelt
Pity Felix can't drop in on Sunday's Korean Grand Prix as it make a fitting end if Webber and Vettel finish 1 & 2.

Jake.
can you imagine whats running through Felix's mind right now? Either "Please god don't go too high and I float off to the moon" or "Hope this parachute works". Same as CalRobbo with the jump height. ZeroMatt
That was fantastic. He did incredible to save that spin. Love how he signed off before the jump! Indeed, that spin looked really nasty. That whole exchange when coming in was a bit dumb mind. "Guys, which way am I going?" "Felix, the wind is from the east." "Which direction am I going?" "The wind is from the east, I repeat, the wind is from the east"
Greetings
I love a live feed note that appeared on one of the major news portals over here "Unofficial news from Roswell: Felix might have broken the speed of light" I also love Red Bull for the entertainment it offered today. So tomorrow I'm going to buy a can of Red Bull.
Rusevelt
Is there solo descent footage from Felix's cam other than Red Bull edit of the whole mission? Edited October 15, 2012 by Rusevelt
Greetings
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGlF4Wtf1WM I read somewhere that in an interview for Austrian TV, he stated that he deliberately saved the longest freefall record for Kittinger. I wish that were true, what a truly great way it would be to honour that man, all his help with the Stratos mission and his remarkable achievement over 50 years ago. AndrewEH1
My thoughts regarding the free fall record is as Felix was going at a higher speed he would travel his higher height faster than Kittinger did at his lower height...but that might be completely backward thinking....
