To be fair, Luke has a good point.

And I too blame the parents - at 5 you shouldn't be out in the street on your own, whether dark or not. It's not just monsters that pose a threat, how about someone getting carried away in their car and she runs out in front of it?

To leave your 5 year old child out in the street is very irresponsible. So many people do it, then panic when they can't find their kid... Don't leave them long enough to wander off then, dumb shit!

I see a trend in the posts here regarding 'modern day'. Can anyone find any truthful statistics on child abduction from 1900-present day, has it actually increased?

I can't help but think that the 'modern age' is no more or less dangerous than previous decades, it's just more widely reported and media encourage the fear factor that everyone is a paedophile, everyone is out to get your children and nowhere is safe.

I found the above after a quick google search, of course there are other child murders other than the ones noted above, however looking at those it was certainly a bad time 1960-1980's!

I do feel slight sympathy for this man accused, I don't know on what basis he is arrested - unreleased evidence, or that CCTV of him carrying a suspicious object? He's innocent until proven guilty but even if he is proven innocent he's been branded a paedo.

Also, many of the dirtiest slutty whores I know went to all girl boarding schools. Never seen such cock-gobblers!

That made me chuckle. It's so true.
