iv been using a 15t sprocket from a old cassette for about 6 years and chain been fine till just now! it just snapped on me!

i used a single speed sprocket befor but the chain wouldnt sit on it properly.

Yes,they are wider and usually stronger.

oh! cheers mate

i got a 22t front chain ring, would the front chain ring need to be changed if i got a single speed chain?

Yeah, like revolver said,if you have the same chain for 6years is highly likely you will have the same chainring and sprocket too. So it would be better if you change them too, reduces the chance of chain skipping.

ok, so what would you advice, do i spend a bit of money, get single speed chain ring, chain and new front chain ring. or buy a cassette chain again and fit it on. as i got a home made single speed setup with one cassette ring etc.

the single speed chains, rings better?

If you have singlespeed setup, go with singlespeed parts, they are more reliable.
