Martin Reynolds
So i ordered the 2012 version off Tarty, i.e this one http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/bash_rings/tryall_symetrik_2012/c1p11911.html What i get turn up is closer to the older version, i.e this one : http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/bash_rings/tryall_symetrik/c1p10262.html However, it's got a 3mm clamp section like the 2012 version. Even though the lip for the free wheel is about 1mm thick, which completely wouldn't work! And the weight is about 26grams, in-between the two different versions So anyone else had this issue? Martin Reynolds
Why dont you just contact Tarty direct? Yeh, kind of hard to do that after work! I will do tomorrow, just getting sick of them sending me products that are clearly different to the specifications on their website.

Ali C
it is annoying when parts are sent out wrong but if humans are involved somewhere sometime mistakes will happen. I don't think you're the hugest fan of Tartybikes from what I've seen, but give them a chance I'm sure they'll come good and sort you out. Isn't that the whole point of having more than one person involved in the process? Anyway, i was more enquiring into seeing what I've got. As it's not a Try All Symetric, or the 2012 Version, but has characteristics from both.

Blake
I don't get how people can slate tarty, sure the prices are a bit on the steep side. But the customer service is through the rooooof. and free stickers.

I thought this thread was asking about what it is. I'm not having a gripe at Tarty, I've simply had a fair few bad experiences with them, and thats all im saying on the matter. Anyway, back on topic, trying to find out what ive got. I cant find anywhere pictures of the back of the 2012 version?
dave33
They are out of stock of the new one but they just thought that the old one would pass for it. Same price so I can see why they tried it. I'm sure most people wouldn't have noticed but if you actually ordered that for a reason then I can see why you would be pissed off. I'm sure if it was a £500 frame alot more people may be pissed off. Good luck getting what you need

Good luck getting what you need I'd agree with you, but the lip which sits against the bashring is alot smaller on the one i got compared to the old one. Unless it's from an odd cross-over batch? Good luck getting what you need Maybe they are out of stock of the old one because Martin purchased the last of the 2012 version and there is in fact a 2012 bashring left on the grid wall at the warehouse because....dare I say it.... it was just a simple mistake and the wrong item was picked from the looks of things. To be fair though you never know it could all just be one massive conspiracy to take over the world.

SO YOU ADMIT IT! What im asking though is, on your website, the old one clearly has a massive lip for the freewheel to sit against, yet mine is about 1mm big? AdamR28
Yeah, what you have is a weird mix - they keep changing stuff so often it's hard to keep track of! Sorry about that. The description on our receipt was too similar between the two models so that has now been changed. If you want to return that one for an exchange or refund that's no problem, all the details are here: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/pages/terms_and_conditions.html#returns. Obviously the reason the 2012 model now shows as out of stock is that you bought the last one, but since it's still here we could do a swap no problem. PS: We have never and we would never change a customer's order without asking. The two bashrings look completely different anyway, the customer would always notice. One phone call takes a lot less time, effort and money than arranging an exchange, you would be stupid to even try it.
Martin Reynolds
Adam, I've completed a returns form, and want the correct 2012 version. I was planning on calling you today, but you've already answered my questions, and i would have gotten the standard response of 'fill out a returns form'. One phone call takes a lot less time, effort and money than arranging an exchange, you would be stupid to even try it. Wanna explain this? isitafox
I think he means rather than just sending out something wrong meaning the customer and Tarty would have to go through the mither of sorting an exchange they would simply ring up and let the customer know the situation first. Mark W
If we didn't have the correct item in stock, we'd just phone up the customer ("One phone call") and tell them we were out of stock of an item and arrange something else instead. If we just sent them whatever we wanted to send, when they got the product and weren't happy with what they'd received we'd then have to pay to have them send that item back, then pay for postage to send them out a suitable replacement not to mention wasting their time and our time ("less time, effort and money than arranging an exchange"). EDIT: Snaked... EDIT 2: I will do tomorrow, just getting sick of them sending me products that are clearly different to the specifications on their website. Out of curiosity, what products was that relating to? I had a look through your previous orders and couldn't find any issues attributed to any of them (from looking at the products in each order it seems they're all relatively 'safe' in the sense that things like olives and shroud nuts can't really be 'wrong'). Did you get in touch with us about it? As Adam alluded to before, some manufacturers seem to change things mid-batch without letting anyone know, so it's tricky to keep on top of everything like that. Despite the myths that certain people like to perpetuate, we don't set out to mess people around or be "robbing c**ts", and we're happy to help out in any situation where a customer isn't happy with something they've received. Stan mentioned that the only things he can remember are a Trialtech Sport Lite BB and an Echo SL 108 freewheel that you sent back to us for warranty, both of which were sorted out FOC?

SamKidney
This amuses me. Really cant see how people have a sense of hate towards Tarty. Been nothing but good to me and fellow riders. They were very prompt in arranging an alternative tyre for me when mine wasnt available, and any other issues Ive had, be it few, if any. Its a little mistake. Try not to loose sleep over it :L
