Ben Gosden
Hi all, In my local village a farmer has sold up all his land to the council, who have decided to build houses, some industrial building and also "a park". The park they are planning is very large so I've decided to to appeal for some kind of bike park (something like cozzington) and as i haven't done this before im not a 100% on everything i should include? Im guessing that a few of you guys must have tried this kind of thing before, some failed and some worked so i thought this would be a good idea to find out what you guess's included. All advice and tips are well come. Thanks,Ben.
BradJohnson
Tea bag the mayor, ask him for a trials park, when he says no, repeat.
Laurence--Trials
Haha brad that did make me laugh. Assuming you're applying for it typed thing, formal letters are usually a good place to start, include pictures and what not. Any ideas you might have.Maybe see if you can get a meeting with the organisers too.
SamKidney
Whatever you do, get other peoples backing to show support for the proposed idea. Dont give up on communicating with them either.

cwtrials
Not sure how the actual process would work in UK, but no matter what you should make some sort of petition with as many names as possible to show there is a need in the community for the trials or skate park. Showing there are a couple hundred riders who want to use it will sound more appealing than just you and a couple friends. Why don't you just contact the Parks Department and ask? Ben Gosden
well the are alot of riders where i live, of all kinds: mountain bike/ trials/ bmx and i could (will) easily be able to get signature's and personal comments. Im also considering splitting the price of the park via sharing out our half of the cost between riders contributing and personally i think they would have to be extremely ignorant to ignore an offer like that. worse comes to worse all us local riders will organize some kind of fund raising event. dezmtber
A lot of councils do work on a 50/50 scheme with skate parks where they tell you there is loads of cash avalable for youth projects, but they want you to prove you deserve it by fund raising 50% of the costs for the park as a group. You will need to contact the local council officer for sport and leisure, contact your local mp also for support. And speak to you local youth club manager they will have a huge effect on the councils desitions
