Question... dear riders, Am I too old for this ? Can I use my stock bike for begiiners trials? please give me some advice I need advices since trials riding is not that popular here in the Philippines its more of 4x and slalom and DH here , I want something different which can give me more balance and technical riding skills hope to hear from all of you Ill post pics of my bike soon.. thank you God bless to all
Danny00135
Firstly, you're never too old .. but you'd be better off taking a look at the for sale section on this forum for a second hand trials specific bike, you'll find it really hard to get going if you modify your current bike. but if you do modify your bike I'd suggest a longer stem, wider bars, if you're going single speed then 18-15 is the normal ratio for trials, wider rims/tyres.... and by the time you buy all that you could have bought a good trials bike on here.... sorry if that made no sense i'm in a bit of a rush this morning

rocky111
yes defiantly change to rigid forks as suspension will only take away power, and I would think some moves would be almost impossible with them such as up to fronts and hooks though that's all pretty advanced, for now your definitely on the right track the rocking hopping and track standing, check out the Ryan leech tutorials and trashzen.com for tutorials. I started off on a dirt jump bike after you's learnt to rock, and back hop, try to rock walk it's pretty safe to learn great fun and stand you in good stead for other stuff.
