clerictgm
After I rode on picreleated without any issues I thinked about putting 26 tubes(1.95") in my 24 (2.4") tyres because I run out of 24 tubes and don't want to buy patch kit. And I also has a bunch of punctured 26 tubes. What if cut them to pieces and use like a patches? CalRobbo341
Just buy a patch kit there like £2.. And if you don't want to buy a patch kit for some strange reason you can think of, just buy a new 24" tube, again like £3...
clerictgm
Well) It's Russia, so patch kit costs £4-5 and tubes for £2-3 is CRAP (some non-elastic chineese (wancheng or something) bad quality crap). Maybe it sounds strange, but it is a problem to find good quality tubes here. Edited September 15, 2012 by clerictgm

JD™
Yes, 26" tubes will fit in 24" wheels. I generally fold an inch of overlap at the opposite side to the valve in a vague attempt to keep things balanced. I wouldn't recommend a 1.95" tube though! Also, it might be completely unrelated but I puncture a whole lot less when I run 24" tubes.
clerictgm
I wouldn't recommend a 1.95" tub Why? I've rode for 3 months on 1.75-1.95 24 tube with 2.5" Highhroller tyre and no problem.
JD™
Because the thickness of the tube is designed to be at its optimum in a tyre that's 1.95" wide, so by stretching it to 2.5" you're just making it thinner. A tube rated to a higher width will be thicker, so it'll have less chance of punctures. If you've had no problems then why does this topic exist? CalRobbo341
So spend an extra £2 and get a repair kit then, you make no sense to me..
Carlperkins
Repair kits cost £4-£5?... .. If your not prepared to shell out to fix broken parts... Trials biking isnt the sport for you.

Trials biking isnt the sport for you. If some thing cost x, it would be STUPID to pay 2x or 2.5x for it. And more stupid to pay if you can avoid this, lol. miketrials1995
when I rode with a 26'' tube in a 24'' tyre it blew a massive hole through the gap between the tread blocks
alistair14
I've used a 24 and a 26" ..both at seperate times in a 19" tyre!

aener
Stupid... Or stingey? Stupid. Yes, you can use 26" tubes in a 24" tyre, and yes you can use bits of tube to fix punctures. Make sure you sand it a lot though. It doesn't bond as well as a patch, so you need to really rough up the surface. Also - don't try and stick it down on the side with the chalky stuff on. That just doesn't work Edit: When putting a too-big tube in a wheel, I find stuffing it inside itself to work much better than folding. Like this: And put this bit opposite the valve to try and balance the heavy spot out a bit. I've used 26" tubes in my mod quite a lot of times doing this Edited September 17, 2012 by aener
