And my this is what happened to my sl version https://www.facebook...&type=3 But i had a standard 2011 echo lite as well and it was fine. The bashplate in that photo looks like it's been hammered a bit, so a superlight frame + hitting the bashplate pretty hard = going to be bad times. Rings are lighter, help with not getting trousers caught in chain, cheaper, don't feel rank when you do land on them, mean you don't need a massive stress raiser in the middle of the downtube, and don't send shocks through the frame.
