Theo Sanders
well i can't say i didn't progress on this bike at all (i could bunnyhop on it about 50 cm, do almost clean 360 rock wall drops, good sidehops and such), but it just doesn't look like a trials bike. i was using it cuz then i had nothing else to ride on plus the size just fit. what i couldn't learn on it was pedal kicking cuz the cranks and chain just sucked. it all finished when i broke rear..err.. dont know the thing's name, it's what the wheel is fixed on in its center, so i couldn't ride it anymore.. here's the pic (it's not my bike, its the same model but my bike is 4 years older i think) so what do you think about this? N.Wood
I started on a bike less suited to trials than that, as did most people who have been riding 8+ years.
Doddsy2801
I started on a '98 dark blue Saracen Hardtrax, 17", cantilever's, just horrendous when you compare to today's bikes, but like you say, that's all I had, it was ride that or don't ride at all lol

Ali C
That's almost identical to the bike I started on (except mine had rigid GT forks). 18" frame, cantilever brakes, triple chainring, 1.95" tyres, 24" wide flat bars, 120mm flatish stem. I did a years worth of comps on that bike with no trials modifications and came 3rd overall that year.

SamKidney
I started doing trialsy stuff on my DMR rhythm. Rolling gaps, up to rears and streety trials. Then had a play on a mates mod and I was hooked.
Jake.
You can start on everything. Can the girl at 0:49 do trials too?
