Gaz96
Tomorrow my parents are getting married and I'm there 16 year old son, me an one of my dads friends are the best men, he will be doing a proper speech and I was just going to say a few words along the lines of thanks for coming ect and say I'm sure you'll all agree it's about time they got married but I think that is going to be covered by both my dad and his friend, but I'm struggling for what else to say! Although I'd really like to say a few words, any suggestions?
Muel
"It's your fault I'm a b*****d, so stop telling me off for behaving like one".

JD™
Keep it short, the other guy will have more experience and stories that he can tell without causing potential offence. If I were you I'd go with cliche stuff to keep the grans happy and the Mum feeling like she can be off your back for a bit Stuff like "They've always been married in my eyes, today is ultimately just a formality and a reason for a party"
Gaz96
Yes was planning on keeping it short and. Then handing it over for other speech, think ill go with The about time they were married and maybe the b*****d joke but maybe looking just for something a lil more, lost both my grans so not got to be strictly nice

Personally I'd go for safe but the point of you being the best man is you should know what to say

Haven't made exactly the same mistakes as this, but similar - and maybe JD is speaking from experience too? Keeping it short, clean and simple seems like a safe bet, and as said a lot of people will probably hear it and you'll have to live with it for a long time!

Topsy
I personally would go for the b*****d joke, but probably only because I talk stuff like that with everyone and probably could get away with it nicely^^ However I absolutely detest speaches.. Anyways, I wish you good luck
JT!
I'd go completely over the top and explain how you first met the bride and the groom, tearing out of the brides vagina etc.
JD™
maybe JD is speaking from experience Unfortunately not, the chances of me ever making it to 'best man' status are slim to none!
isitafox
Has your dad got any ropey habits like spending more time looking in the mirror than your mum? If you want to keep it light hearted but make it seem longer than it is do what a lad did at my mates wedding the other week and have them do a Mr & Mrs style game aimed at embarrasing him. Went down a treat!
