So as much as I enjoy riding, i'm losing motivation by the day. And I think I want to try something new with trials, was thinking bigger wheels to start with, but now just thinking of sticking with mod and getting some brakes. Been watching alot of riders recently mostly Onza sponsored riders. And it gets me wondering if I should make the move to dual maggies/dual disc?

Getting off topic but I have like no money what so ever, tutor has just put my name in for a job and I have college starting soon which gives me a bit of money to work with. Either way I will have a bit of income sooner or later.

Should I just buy a new build, genesis mod geo sounds nice, although I would have to upgrade some things straight up, bar, pads, freewheel ect.

Or should I just buy little parts atm and add them to my comp like new drivechain, wheelset, ect and then upgrade the frame eventually?

I would obviously have to get just a rear brake for my comp to see what it is like and get used to it.

And a complete other option just upgrade what I have to a comp like mod, upgrade everything but the odd few parts?

So yeah someone help me with my decisions.

A few pics, bar wheels.

your mod is beautiful, buy a pair of maggies off here (there's a set for £50 atm) and pop em on.

LOVELY JUBBILEE.

My comp only has disc mounts, hence why if I wanted brakes it would HAVE to be dual disc, so new forks would be needed then, as front mag rear disc just doesnt sound right, bet it doesnt feel right either. But yeah if it had maggie mounts, they would have been purchased already.

Oh and any opinions on rawing the bars? Have a wee bit of caustic soda left.

Been brakeless since about January, then had a very small break while I built this up and have been ever since, I just feel it may work out cheaper if I go dual disc, thats if I like having brakes on? Then again buying new forks would just add on hmmm.

Were you riding brakeless before? Getting brakes will definitely change things up. I've never tried it but I'm sure having disks on back and maggys on the front wouldn't be too bad. Just my opinion though.

Dual disc is deffo the way to go! Really awesome, and just sooo much better! The change from Maggies to dual disc have made me a better and smoother rider, even at the first ride! I think brakes can boost your riding and make your overall a great rider with your brakeless background! Good luck mate!:)

Now its just saving up the money for dual deore's, then rotors, then forks.. :') This could take a while, although I am enjoying riding, must have just been a down day. :D

So... bit 'a bump, I have recently been doing ALOT of gap to 90's which has resulted in me changing tubes and tyres 4 times in an hour! Think I will put a half slicked tyre on tomorrow with a working tube and see how long that lasts. If it doesnt last I think I may just save up and buy brakes, rotors, forks and tyre tube set all together, then see what I ride like? I want to head in a sort of comp/natural/street riding all static and see how that works out? But I have a random thought in the back of my ehad to just save up for a bmx as it seems all I ever do on my trials is flowing lines with no hopping, nothing to ride unless I travel, but I don't think I will like that line. so someone help me pick one of the above? :)

edit - forget about the bmx thing, I prefer the atmosphere of the forum and trials, meh if I want a bmx I will go for an Fourplay or something along the lines of that.

I think that you may have ridden over glass or something sharp which is now in your tyre cutting holes in your tubes. Because I can't really see how you otherwise would get THAT much punctures. Or you might have a hole in the tyre. Take it off and look on both inside and outside. What tubes and tyres do you use?

I've only had ONE puncture under my whole "trials career". And that was when I had a whole in my tyre. Btw I do run lightweight tubes to.

I think that you should save up too brakes and rotors and forks:) Would be a nice build then:)

I have multiple tyres and tubes, and I just went through all of them to then get the correct tyre but wrong tube. I just want brand a brand new set so it is nice and reliable, that is my orginal idea and I really want to do it, its gonna be ages until I can afford everything first.

The order if anyone is intrested, tyres, tubes, rear brake + rotor + adaptor, forks, front brake + rotot + adaptor. Not like anyone will be that bothered, I just need to plan it out.
