Miss-Higgy
Did this frame come with a bash plate? I have purchased one second hand of someone, and it has a couple of ominous holes around the downtube and yoke. Not sure if they are supposed to be there or not. They are only 2mm wide if that?? I'm asking because the pics i can find online seem to all have bash rings

CalopS
Just go with a bash ring. Much better for your frame!
Miss-Higgy
I am doing, i'm just trying to figure out if those holes are supposed to be there? They look very shoddy for holes created by the manufacturer. If they aint meant to be there i'm not building it up riding it and hurting myself when it snaps in two places. danrobinson
looks like someone's driiled into the frame on the pics
SamKidney
Looks like its possibly had cracks drilled out. Edit: Is this cracked here? Edited August 25, 2012 by Echo Lite
Jake.
Did you buy it off Robbie woods? There was a f**king sketchy bashplate on it, it was proper shit (cut out flat sheet with no rubber support). So I told him to undo the bolts and take the bashplate off and use just the bashring, seemed fine since. Previous owner before Robbie drilled it. Miss-Higgy
Yeah like i'd have bought it if I had of known and yeah i bought it off robbie woods. It's not actually cracked anywhere around the holes. And i knew something dogey was a foot when i looked at the holes. Hmmmm don't think i feel safe riding that.. Looks like I'm suck on the fekin Merlin still Oh and says you with your cut your own headtube bodge Edited August 25, 2012 by Miss-Higgy

CalopS
Everyone does the headtube bodge! I think It will be ok to ride. Just keep an eye on it. Or ask for your money back if you didn't expect it to be in that condition.
Miss-Higgy
LOL My was sexy till i snapped it.. Nothing against the headtube bodge sensible place for weight loss if you ask me if done well I'm not 1000% on it and there was never any mention of holes having been drilled in the frame. But for the messing about sending the thing back i'll just ride it for a bit. And see if we can make it 3 snapped frames in less than 3 months go for the world record. isitafox
How much you pay for it??
Miss-Higgy
£35 hence its not the end of the world. And really i was expecting it to have something wrong with it for that price. Was thinking maggie threads are f**ked not random holes drilled it it.
Jake.
It seemed fine when he rode it, previous owner really was a bit thick to drill holes and put a thin bodge metal sheet on with no rubber. If it really bothers you I'm sure he'll give you a refund or some money back, but only if you were not told about the holes.
Miss-Higgy
He has offered me a refund if i return it to him. I don't think robbie is that much at fault as he didn't do the holes and forgot to mention the hole's as they didn't bother him. I would prob take some of the cash back. But at the end of the day I still need a mod frame till i can afford a Jaf Bike so it'll have to do
