Formula R1 Good Enough?

Probably one "unnecessary topic" as some mod would say but meeeh. I basically wan't a disc brake on the back now, and I've have ordered a set of shimano saints for me, BUT they're delayed. So I've been given a set of "formula R1" brakes. Are these good enough? I've never heard of them and I rather know before I get there if they're good enough on the rear of a MOD (20"). Probably going to use a 180mm disc just because I can :shades:

Do they do the job for a week or two? :) cheers.

Pretty expensive solution for week or two...You just got Vees, use them ffs.

Im getting them for free mate, and I got a new rim to and don't wan't to grind it and remove the sexy black sidewall haha;) Are the formula brakes good?

Yes, amazing brakes, the reviews are incredable, amazing power with super light weight! So so so hard to get hold of second hand though!

Haha well that's good. Is it worth waiting for saints? or should I just stick with this one? Cheers fot the comment man:)

Stick with the formula r1 if you get them free, try out the saints for a week or so when you get them. Use whichever one you prefer.

Then give me the one you don't use, after all you did get them free right ;)

Will try both out and see how they are like:)

hahah dream on;)

The Formula brakes are alright, but I really wouldn't run the for trials. They have very little modulation when set up properly, and go to shite if they are the slightest bit off. They never stay set up either, have problems with leaking under heavy pressure on the lever, and are the most horrendous brake to bleed period.

Ride brakeless until you get your saints dude! They're a better brake, and it will help loads with your skill!

Well I think that they are alright actually, much better than my vee's and really good. Haven't had any problems with it sofar. And I've ridden brakeless before and it's not 'my thing'..

I was looking at it more from my mecanic's point of view... it won't stay good for long!

Willing to be proved wrong though...
