SunnyBoy
Hi all, Could someone tell me if there's a way to identify alloy from stainless steel? (looking at sprockets only without checking weight, etc. i.e. from pictures) Cheers Edited August 19, 2012 by SunnyBoy
chris_trials
You can always tell alloy from steel by the weight, the lighter sprocket will be the alloy one
Jake. And he clearly said (looking at sprockets only without checking weight, etc. i.e. from pictures).
Al_Fel
I think it would be hard to do but from my experience the steel cog would be shiny and the alloy cog would be a bit more dull. Why are you trying to work it out from looking at the pictures?
