clerictgm
Arrr not this shit again! It's not my fault! I ride very carefuly. And still can't hook-up's and up to front. Waiting for ECHO response, hope I will get new for free. I was doing a small pedal-up (60cm) and when landed: Tink! and my bike divided in three parts. CalopS
Echo forks just can't put up with the abuse of brakeless riding. I put a pair on my Inspired and granted they wern't new, they didn't last more than a couple of weeks..... Good luck getting a new pair. I'd seriously think about selling them as new and getting Inspireds though.
Lewis Gething
Oh thats a relief, I have seen a few of these breakages end nastily for the rider from what I can see in the bottom left photo, it appears the steerer is grimey/greasy where the crown race should have been, suggesting you weren't using a crown race. Can you confirm this?
clerictgm
>you weren't using a crown race Yes, i ride without it. But is it so important? Echo forks just can't put up with the abuse of brakeless riding. But I'm not so big in brakeless and every drop I do I land on rear wheel, not on 2. I don't see a reason for this fork to brake in so short amount of time.
Andeee
My Neons cracked in 3 places same place where yours have snapped. New Echo stuff is DOGGERZ!
Luke Rainbird
Why the f**k weren't you running a crown race? That alone would probably kill any chances you might have had of a successful warranty claim...
trialsiain
Why the f**k weren't you running a crown race? That alone would probably kill any chances you might have had of a successful warranty claim... - Extra thick steerer now features an integrated crown race (45 degree - perfect for Echo SL headsets), reducing the stress riser at the bottom of the steerer tube. You must run a sealed bearing headset with 45 degree lower bearing with these forks and no crown race, or the warranty will be void.
CalRobbo341
They don't look like 2012's to be honest, disc only, unless you bought them somewhere else other than Tarty, there is no way they are 2012's, unless they stocked them for a short time, or you cut off 4 bolt / v mounts off? edit *Tarty... Martin Reynolds
FSA headsets are normally 36 degrees, as far as I know? You showed objection to him not running a crown race, not the angle of the headset bearings....
