Brake Decision.

Yo! So my magura has now died (R.I.P ;)) and I need a REAR new brake. I'm basically quite tired off setting up maguras etc. I could live with V-brakes though since im a pro setting them up.

For the moment I have the option to either go to a rear disc, in that case a shimano saints or something from shimano really as I get them free from my sponsor. Or I could go to v-brakes (note that I have 4 bolt mounts so I need adaptors.) also get them free.

What would you choose? I haven't tried the saints or spoken to anyone who has them on the rear so would be great to know! I would deffo choose some good pads, grind the rim and get good parts for my v-brake if I'm getting it.

Cheers!

Why ask us if you should get a FREE brake or not?

Edit: No offence to you man, but your riding isn't exactly spectacular compared to some, it's beginner level so I don't see how you got a sponsor and a few guys I know who've ridden 5+ years and can go big don't get a sponsor... How do you do it? Haha

Because I wan't to know if it does the Job. Thought that where obvious in the post I made.

Well, You do know sponsoring isn't really about being the best rider. Its about reprensating a company and making some advertising for them. One big reason I make alot of videos.

And Sweden is a small country (riders wise) so by sponsoring the guy who probably rides most in Stockholm they do get out their company quite well.

Considering the amount of posts I've seen saying saints are the best, I thought it would have been obvious. Unless you don't browse the forum much.

True. But having a top level rider would attract waaaaay more attention to any company they'd represent, must suck not having many riders. Come live in England ;)

I actually haven't seen a post where someone mention anything about saints. And no I don't browse the forum that much. :)

Yes you deffo have a point :)

haha yeah that sucks, Think Stockholm have 11 active riders or less.

I like England, and liked My 3 weeks there this summer, you have spots EVERYWHERE, but the weather sucks and so does the food hehe ;)

Hey Man,

I'd definitely go for a Saint front and rear if your sponsor can sort you out. They are thee best disc brake Ive ever had the pleasure to try. Ive tried them on a few bikes too; 24" street and TGS and 26" - and they've even been set up by noobs and felt great :giggle:

Trying to modulate them is the hardest part as the servo wave kicks in pretty quick and bites harshly! (not a bad thing at all, in fact, one of its qualities)

Thank's mate, this is what I wanted to hear. Reagrding the modulation, I it doesn't really bother me since I'm used to maguras with harsh grinds and no modulation at all haha :)

Cool will have them a go then, just need a new rear wheel.
