ChrisTrials2012
I have a Bell Faction, which I hardly ever use cause I feel its not protecting me, due to my massive head pushing it too high to protect my forehead and to some extent my temples. I'm just wondering if I modded the polystyrene-like material inside, would it sit lower and protect me better, or does everyone feel this when they wear a pisspot? And any suggestions if not, on how to solve this problem. PS the helmets XL/XXL so its the biggest I could get.
trialsiain
would it not just be better getting a helmet that fits right, instead of cutting at the protective foam

And if I have a helmet already, why would I buy a new one if I could just make sure it fits by modifying it.
N.Wood
Pics of it on your head? Go to a shop and try some on (its ok, its free, don't worry) and see if they all fit like that. You may have a canoe head, or your helmet is oddly shaped and isn't the best for you. If none of them fit great, then try modding yours. trialsiain
dont know just thought it might weaken it ?
ChrisTrials2012
I haven't pics, but I think its just my head being shaped oddly. dont know just thought it might weaken it ? The foam isn't structurally integral to the helmet, just padding for your head so it doesn't hurt like f**k when it gets bashed off the floor. And I'll probably go to a shop and try a few on, to see which fits my head best

Too late! Small amount of cuts and removed a few inserts, and its light and roomy, while still providing protection. Why what I just typed sounded weird I don't know
