Registering To Vote

Hello all

I am registered to vote, and I do. I believe it's rather important.

Wife disagrees, wife doesn't understand politics on account of her tiny tiny woman brain, and believes if she were to vote, it would be a bad thing, because she is silly, and silly people simply shouldn't vote or there would be chaos.

So does she need to register and refuse to vote, or do we just not register her at all? My gut feeling is that she needs to register but refuse to vote, so that the results show the correct percentage of people who are just too silly to be allowed to vote.

So, which?

I'm pretty sure you risk £1000 fine if you don't register on the electoral roll. I disagree with the electoral roll for two reasons: firstly you have to opt out of having your details sold off. Why should you have to opt out of that? And secondly anyone can view it at their town hall, so there's no way to hide yourself should you so choose.

Hence I'm not on the electoral roll. Yes, it doesn't help with credit ratings, but I'm not looking for credit or a mortgage, and have two decent credit cards with high limits should I need them.
