D Rock 45
So i was out riding the other day and after most ride's i check my bike over, when i notice a crack on the down tube. On the right side of the patch weld for the bash plate to screw into is quite a bad crack. Is it worth welding back or time to buy a new frame? shercofray
Its only £25, much cheaper than a new frame!
isitafox
Its only £25, much cheaper than a new frame! Don't think it's a set price for a repair, it depends on what's being done but either way it's cheaper than a new frame!

Rob Leech
Don't think it's a set price for a repair, it depends on what's being done but either way it's cheaper than a new frame! This guys on the button . It very much depends on where the crack is on the frame, the size of it and if it has had any other effects on the the frame (ie, bent tubing due to failure, likely hood of it failing in another area due to the crack, ect). Send me a message on here, or facebook, or through the Jaf site and I'll get you a quote over if you'd like it repairing chap . Cheers pal, Josh Leech. EDIT- Have you got any pics of the crack btw? D Rock 45
i can't get a picture i am away and havent brought my camera with me. The crack is 3 inches long and wide enought to fit a drawing pin in it right the way along, also i think the frame has twisted there is a lip on it Edit: now seems like a pointless question, its to far gone Edited July 24, 2012 by D Rock
