Rusevelt
All that DIY butchery on a bike, i was expecting it to break the sub 7kg barrier. Tartybikes superlight project back in 2009/10 i believe was only a tad heavier without the heavy handed drilling and cutting out parts. Jake.
Fully slick the tyres? What inner tubes are they? And get karbon forks! Get Ti pedals? You'll save 40g even with no modding. Edited July 24, 2012 by JMCD
Rusevelt
that was a 20" though... No, the first Tartybikes superlight stock project was an 2009 Echo Control, pimped up with the lightest available parts in stock.

SamKidney
Im not sure I like it. The weight is undeniably impressive, but aesthetically Im not a fan. Too much going on Silver, blue, purple, orange, black, whatever color the frame is..... Only my opinion. I like my bikes with few colors thats all. And the tyres! Id rather increase the weight a tad and run some that are nice than run shite ones just to get it near 7kg.

eskimo
Cut the steerer down and change the stem. That's gotta be lighter than 10mm worth of chunky ali. Also change your brakes. My old ones were about a pound lighter than yours. Still my Inspired is lighter.

Luke Dunstan
I'd rather have a bike that weighed a fair bit more, and not have that feeling of impending doom of something snapping. I like bikes that inspire confidence. Well done for making a bike that light though.
