ooo
i think a brake needs to dissipate energy somehow, i.e. heat. so if it were teeth it would have to break something somewhere.
dann2707
Written on a note and uploaded to instagram?! Not hipster enough mate!
Jake.
I'm way too hipster bro. Or just lazy, I found it easier to upload to photo bucket and copy URL than type it out again, but then I realised I could've copied from notes hahah. Ooo I thought the pad compound would just rip straight off. Hmmm.
dann2707
If it could be feasible it would be amazing. I also thought of an idea, it wouldn't work but like, the wheel is connected to a series of gears running and when the brake is pressed a meshed gear stops the whole thing from moving acting as a brake. It works in my head but in practise is a completely different thing
Laurence--Trials
The teeth would probally brake. No pun intended.
Skoze
It would blow itself apart pretty quickly - imagine pulling that at the bottom of a hill!
TRIAL-bike-MATT
Only thing than is it would either be locked on or off, you wouldnt be able to feather the brake without the wheel locking up. But it would have the ultimate bite.
Jake.
It would blow itself apart pretty quickly - imagine pulling that at the bottom of a hill! Haha yeah that wouldn't be nice. Would be fine I you had a front disc though, front and rear 'teeth' brakes and you're f**ked.
SamKidney
Isnt that effectively what we're doing now when we grind our rims? Grind makes tiny little "teeth" or points, and the pad is squished into them to give bite and hold.

BradJohnson
Why would you need pads with teeth. Maggy with a fresh water bleed, 4 finger lever, harsh grind and cousts is enough, mine is deadly!
dann2707
Why do we need to develop new cars when my old shitty Focus does the same job as any other car? S'all about new ideas and stuff

dann2707
That's my screenshot program. It automatically uploads the screenshot to imgr, and auto copies to your clipboard. Literally an awesome program. Everyone needs it.
