ogre
i havent used an SL but have owned an eno and am running a TT on my 20"... eno is the best one, cause it's got a sealed bearing and i never had mine skip... my TT one has skipped a few times but i do trust it as it seems to skip when i'm setting up/moving around, not when i'm putting the power down... couldn't work out how to open/service the TT but the eno is a doddle to service, although the lockring is a pig to get back on sometimes... dann2707
Echo SL every day of the week. Had mine a year and a half and mine hasn't skipped once. And I ride quite alot. Heard SO many skips on rides though from people who have rockmans, monty, etc freewheels. Plus the sound is boner inducing, well it was but as more people got them it's just a natural sound now. Actually never thought of that.

Echo-Scott
Eno. Mines 6 years old and still running amazing. Was the first thing i bought for my first bike and im still using it today. Best £80 I've ever spent.
williams
Echo SL. No questions asked. How come you bought a tensile one for your bike then?
isitafox
2nd hand Tensiles own if you haven't got much cash. I'd happily put a Tensile as a very close 2nd to an Echo SL!
Jake.
How come you bought a tensile one for your bike then? Cause the lad couldn't get it off the cranks I wanted, it was only a tenner extra so it's an ok spare.
Sam Song
heres my echo sl 2 and a half years old of pretty much every day riding another one on its way One thing I don't like is that you never predict when that would happen. It could be perfect without any skip or flex, then explode the next day.

When did YOU become a mod?! Not been on here as much, recently, so apologies if it's been ages I'd also put a Tensile96 as a runner up to the SL. My Tensile ran for three years, and only skipped once, just before blowing up - and bear in mind just how much pressure brakeless puts on freewheels! Only put the SL above it as it has a few more engagements, and there's a lower percentage of people have had issues with them.

Gandalf the Yellow
My eno is 4 years old, just had its first service since I had it and it only skipped a handful of times. Loved it and even I can tell its slightly on its way out its still going absolutely solid!! Only thing stopping me from servicing it properly like I should do is the freewheel is absolutely seized on cranks so I will be riding it till it dies then taking it all apart to use total brute force to remove it. I won't get another because it seems to be a lot of effort to transfer freewheels from crank to crank. As a long term product it's fantastic, sounds great, reliable and you know you're getting a quality product. But because of the nature of how it naturally tightens onto crank and it's always a bit sketchy to remove I think I'll only bother with good ish freewheels that's cheap on a one use basis. So my next freewheel would be an Echo SL - that's until my eno dies though! Hope this helps. Steve
SamKidney
SL. I'll second the opinions on the Tensile freewheels too! Very very underrated for what they are. My 60 lasted 2 years, and had been used for another 2 prior to me, skipping only once and another handful of times when it was very near the end. but then I wasnt putting anywhere near as much power into the moves as I do now. Added to the fact that you can buy all the spares for them, means that if looked after well, they should last an long time. Although my SL's have never skipped on me, one of them cracked on the pawl carrier, and my current one seems to have lost half of its engagements. p_ruskin
I would also have to say SL, it sounds amazing and my first one lasted a good year and a half and never skipped once. On my second one now, and that's still going well. Had a few tensile96 clicks too and they are also good just lack a little on the engagements. Cant say anything for the eno but I have had a trialtech freewheel and it was the worst thing I ever owned, skipped constantly and lasted only a few months, I think it was because it was a copy and not something they made themselves as everything else they make is really good quality

tigriss
SL for me too. I've ridden 1 year with it, and I've never had any problem. I've heard lots of good things for the white industry too but never owned one ans it only has 72 engagements as for the echo has 108 engagements. The last i tried with just 72 engagements was the monty one and i felt like if there was a hole between 2 engagement points.
