Jaf Bikes Is Here.....

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

just to let you know, I have recently started in business for myself under Jaf Bikes and today was the day that the website went live-

http://www.jaf-bikes.co.uk

With 3 years of concept testing behind us, we are now in the right place to take Jaf Bikes full time and are now taking orders for custom steel frames.

Alongside this service, we will also be providing steel and aluminium frame repairs using our carbon skinning technique which we have been testing for over 8 months now. This has proven to be a highly effective means of overcoming the problems presented through welding alone.

Please take a look through our site and let us know what you think!

If you have any problems with the website, please get in touch and we can resolve the issues as quickly as possible.

Thanks for reading,

Josh Leech,

Jaf Bikes.

what would be the average price for a custom frame?, or perhaps the min and max price that one might expect to pay, also what sort of time frame would be expected from the time of the order to the time it arrives @ the buyers doorstep?.

Edit: ignore the last question, found the info on the website under terms and conditions,

So you don't make Aluminium custom frames???

Not yet.

Finding a place to heat treat them is proving very difficult. They all want big orders to make it worth their while - which is totally understandable.

It's something he's very eager to offer when that obstacle's overcome though, from the way he talks about it.

i can't read the geo on the frame picture on the home page... after a while the top logo hurts my eyes too... products + services seem very interesting though...

As Flipp said really. As soon as i find a reliable heat treater that can take on the frames, I'll start prototyping straight away (Y).

Yeah, they didn't seem that bad when i was drawing them up, but now you say it, I'll look into getting them a bit smoother.

Nice work Josh.

I have a question to ask. I have just got some new forks ( Neon training disc) But every so often i am so tempted to go back to front hs33. Could you make some 4 bolt mount for them forks? If you could do it, it may be something i may be interested with you in future.

Really liking the craftmanship you do into making frames and repairing them. Keep it up!

Also what does the "Jaf" stand for?

Cheers Andy

Josh recently added a few upgrades to my Marino, and I must admit, he did a sterling job of it as well. I was mighty impressed with the quality of the job, and everything fitted up perfectly. I have put up a little post on my blog about the updates on my frame...have a look here...

looks pretty awesome yeah

what's the difference between the red one and the marino?

It doesn't just look awesome ;)

Difference is in geo.

Marino was 1030 WB (longer than I asked because he got HA wrong), 69.5 HA (asked for 71), 615 reach, +70 BB and 350 CS.

Jaf is 980 WB, 73 HA, 595 reach, +70 and 350 CS.
