Stevey
Hi, I have a Truvativ Giga Pipe ISIS Bottom Bracket with M12 thread size. I need help because I need to buy a tap to re-cut the thread as the crank bolt (which thread is fine) won't catch onto the thread of the bottom bracket due to the start of the thread in the bottom bracket being damaged. I have looked for a while to try and find out the the pitch of the M12 thread. The only result I was able to find was, "M12 x 1.75mm". I am not sure if this is correct so I need help because my bike is un-rideable! Thanks, Stevey
RobinJI
Just measure it across 10 threads on one of the bolts. They're likely to be M12 x 1.25, 1.5 or 1.75mm, so across 10 threads, even with just a ruler or something you'll be able to tell if 10 threads are ~17.5mm or ~15mm or ~12.5. Stevey
Across 10 threads it seems to 10mm. So I guess it is a very fine thread size. Edited July 9, 2012 by Stevey
