dann2707
I've got some Cousts which I removed the the plastic backings which took a silly amount of effort, they were never gonna come off the backings when riding. My intentions were to glue them to Ali backings to stop the shitty flex you get I'm the plastic ones leading the edges to wear away faster than the middle. I went to glue them in yesterday but they came out of the backings instantly probably because I'm using the wrong glue. I'm not going to start cutting up the pad to fit in the backing because no doubt ill do it wrong or they won't fit and make it spongy if its not seated correctly in the backing. So, metal to pad glue? Any ideas?I'm using this glue.
harmertrials
I glued my rear cousts (coust in heatsink backings) using 'flex' super glue, but these have come slightly out at the corners. My front cousts (coust in tnn backings) I used standard super glue and they've held in perfectly. I think the key is not over clamping the vice when glueing.

dann2707
That'd last about 2 seconds. There's gonna be some mega f**king shearing forces going into the pad, needs to be STRONGGG glue like, babes

dann2707
Did you not understand the whole point of my post? I'm not cutting the pads, i'm glueing them straight ontop of the backings.

ghostrider88
I'm ok with honest wankers. You´re very nice guy for sure, role model for all anyways to the topic,I wouldn´t do it,especially to the alu backings.michael coustellier obviously has some know-how as noone else does it this way,so there´s a lot of room for screwing up I guess. ogre
i used some 2 part gorila glue, came in a dual barreled syringe so it ejected the right amount of each, mix and apply, i know you've said no to cutting them, but it makes so much sense to ensure they fit properly... liam n
i didn't know there was more than one type of "super glue" it's all the same chemical formula? i use cheap super glue or araldite. but i'd definately cut them daniel, it's not that hard, brand new stanley blade, a bit of water to lube it up. and trial and error till it fits ;D
dave33
Cost pads seem to work better with a bit of squish, not sure if performance will be improved, your best off cutting them to fit the alloy backing. Araldite works for me
EnnBee
Just cut em Dann it's so much more secure. I had to do it with some phat pads last year. You can't just glue em on top. That's just silly
