Hub/chain Tension Problem

Recommended Posts

1st problem is that the axle on my echo hub is too thick for my Onza ice's dropouts. would filing the axles down a bit help resolve this?

2nd problem is that my wheel keeps moving in the dropouts. i'm using the onza chain tensioners (not using the silver bits or the nuts). I set my wheel up so that the chain is at a nice tension. and the wheel is centred. If i do a few pedal kicks (or something as little as spinning my wheel which happened tonight) the chain either goes really loose or far too tight. The chain tensioners are touching the axles so its not a case of the wheel not moving down when i was setting it up, and the bolts are really tight. Its weird that it moves when i dont want it to but when i do it wont move, what can i do to stop this? will i need a new hub? I was thinking it might be because the axle bolt washers on my wheel are mashed due to side hops. will changing them help?

Any help appreciated, thanks :)

Don't know what to recommend for the first problem but for the second I'd try some serrated washers first with steel bolts to see if that hold your wheel in place. I had a similar problem with my because and serrated washers solved the problem.

Problem 1 - I had the same issue trying to get my echo hub in my blade frame, Got it in eventually and was proper tight and pointless, Took a file to it in the end taking VERY small straight bits of until it just about moved freely, Dont know if its recommended or effect other hubs that are put on in future but it worked good for me :)

problem 2 - id imagine the locking nuts and silver bit are there for a reason... but other than that i wouldn't know
