Jake.
I have an Echo SL 108 freewheel on my bike, I'm left foot forward so I want to turn the halfring round. Is the only way to get the freewheel off by using Tartybikes Echo Freewheel Tool? I've got this freewheel remover (same shape, but not same brand). Any advice would be great, can't ride the bike full-out until I turn this halfring around. Edited June 28, 2012 by JMCD
isitafox
Nah you don't need the echo one, I've got the same one as you.
Jake.
Got told by Jack that his mate Josh broke 4 freewheel tools while trying to take off an Echo SL haha, will give it a try tomorrow then. Cheers
isitafox
As long as you bolt it to the cranks you can't really go wrong
Lewis Gething
In the questions section of this page: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/tools/cyclo_freewheel_remover/c31p10755.html one of the guys mentions that he has an Inspired freewheel? I had no clue that they even existed?
Greetings
An Inspired freewheel is just a Trialtech. Not sure they even change the logo on the freewheel to be honest.
Jake.
It's this I believe. http://www.freeflowbikes.com/Dirt-Street/Drivetrain/Freewheel-Sprockets/Inspired/Inspired-Trialtech-Sport-Freewheel-/
Lewis Gething
Yeah, I had a feeling it would have something to do with Trialtech, being as though they are a sister company.
Jake.
Think I turned the freewheel tool the wrong way round, was trying to get a tensile off. Oops.

Jake.
Hahaha these replies make me feel less bad about breaking my Dads vice, you try using a 4 meter long pole on the crank arm, turn it the wrong way (tighten the freewheel) and it'll happen to you. Was like an explosion.
Jake.
Not again surely???
isitafox
Have you got the tool bolted up too tight to the crank or have you just been hitting the gym too much?
Jake.
Loosened the tool each time we thought the freewheel loosened, haha I think an 8 foot pole would be the reason, that and maybe uaing a cast iron vice doesn't help.
