Do I neeed a new bb or can this be fixed? cheers jake
BradJohnson
Try and tighten it. But i do think it's collapsed, if thats the case a new one is in order.
jake tanner
Yeah though so, do you need a special tool to tighten it ?
ghostrider88
In most cases yes you do need one,but you could try to use mole grips for that, but put some cloth on the left side or you will damage the threads.

What! The threads are inside the frame, your doing something wrong if you can fit mole grips around them.

ghostrider88
Shimano style BB cups doesn´t have anything else on the outer side of the left cup(unlike right cup which have this "lip" you can grab insted the actual thread).Another option is to use flat screwdriver and hammer to tighten it,it´s not perfect solution but it will be good enough fo show you if the wobble is caused by BB being loose or not. bing
that's an option I'd never take, if it's loose the threads on either the cups or shell are probably bolloxed, in which case hammering them will only bollox them some more. take the bb out and take you frame to a shop and get the threads cleaned up with a tap. then buy a new bb just to be on the safe side. that way the threads will be good and fresh. use a light dose of grease to aid entry

ghostrider88
screw driver would be good enough to find out if it´s loose,to wobble like that it would have to be very very loose. If it isn´t,the problem is elsewhere.
