adam456
hey people, Well i have been trying to get better at side hops. Can someone tell me the proper way to do it? Cheers Adam.
TrialsIsHard
best way to learn is to watch videos and practice.. Have a look at some sidehops and look at people's technique, before they take off they will be completely stationary and balanced. Before dropping their weight down low, and explosively jumping up, tucking the bike up underneath them. Look at this at 0:36 -Always admired Ben Savage's sidehop
dann2707
You've just gotta like, hop to the side onto the wall.

Kieran Morrison
It doesn't matter, although IMO onto two looks much nicer
Jake.
People say you should do it to the opposite of your good foot. It seems to help a little when tucking.
ghostrider88
I say the best way is to learn it to the both sides...And also it´s useful to use your front wheel to pull back wheel higher,if you do it right it doesn´t even look that bad.But as with everything, it can take some time to get it right. Stebass
Personally I find that natural riders usually go to front then pivot, allows to put rear wheel exactly were you want it, street riders usually go to two as its not exactly mm perfect movements needed
dann2707
To two wheels looks much nicer / smoother. Front wheel then second wheel doesn't, to me, class as a "real" sidehop.
ghostrider88
So this isn´t sidehop to you?
dann2707
Of course, as the time between the front wheel touching the floor and the back was fast as f**k. But when people sidehop and it takes around a second for the rear to touch after the front then to me I don't class that as a traditional sidehop.

I must agree, when people do it to that technique i think it almost adds another step into the move making it harder.
dann2707
I think it makes it easier haha. It's how I learned them then started to land on two wheels.
